Rebisco Foundation completes its Medical Missions for 2017

The Rebisco Foundation (RFI) completed its Alay Kalusugan Kaakibat ng Pamilya (AKKaP) Medical Missions for 2017! On its eighth year, AKKaP served a total of 5,635 beneficiaries from Rebisco communities in Novaliches, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Laguna, Marilao, Tanza, Pampanga and Bukidnon. The spirit of volunteerism came alive with the joint efforts of Rebisco employees, partner companies, doctors, teachers, barangay workers and RFI scholars, who gave their time to make a delightful difference.

Fighting Hunger with Rebisco Foundation Inc.

One hundred and twenty-one students from the Bienvenido Fojas Elementary School in Tanza, Cavite now have better nutrition, thanks to the feeding program organized by the Republic Biscuit Corporation (Rebisco) through the Rebisco Foundation, Inc. A first for the company, the program which ran from July to December 2016, was created to help address the malnutrition of students classified by the school administration as severely wasted.

"For six months, we served lunch to malnourished students of our partner school in the hopes of restoring their nutritional status and improving their school attendance and grades," shared Ronson Dy, the company's Senior Community and Government Relations Supervisor. "As a solid community partner, we want to make sure that we create shared value sustainably to communities Rebisco operates. In 2015, we were able to provide the same school with a much needed classroom for the Grade 6 students, and just recently, we engaged the community thru a school feeding program," he continued.

For the next school year, the feeding program will run from July 2017 to March 2018.

Rebisco brings corporate social responsibility to the fairways

Davao City (11 October) -- Rebisco or Republic Biscuits Corporation have brought their acts of good corporate citizenship to where the birds chirp and where one can have the cloud-overcast view of the country's tallest mountain at the early morning tee off of the recent Rebisco Vis-Min Cup 2008 in one of Davao City's world-renowned fairways of the Apo Golf and Country Club.

Davao City's regular golfing sports buffs had answered the call for the food-aid-for-peace one-day tournament in conjunction with what most Mindanao sportsmen had long been advocating, that is sports for peace.

Speaking for the Davao-based 10th Infantry (Agila) Division of the Philippine Army, Col. Rolando Bautista said the sports event is timely and had thanked the organizers of the tournament for their concern.

Bautista who received the boxes of biscuits and foodstuffs during the awarding ceremony of the tournament said the food donations had been sent in a special convoy to the 6th Infantry Division in Cotabato City for proper distribution.

We are just helping Rebisco to secure and transport their biscuits and food donations to reach the intended beneficiaries which is also in line with the recent call by AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Alexander Yano for assistance from the private sector, Bautista told the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

The government information arm based in Davao City earlier took the initiative of contacting Rebisco of any help following a press conference moderated by PIA XI Regional Director Efren Elbanbuena. The same media forum was held to discuss emergency food aid in kind to help the hunger-stricken victims of the atrocities in far-flung Mindanao areas.

Rebisco executives lost no time in designing a program for such purpose giving birth to their own CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program of the first Visayas and Mindanao Cup 2008
