Corporate Social Responsibility
Education
As a response to SDG 4 (Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning), which aims for the provision of quality education for all, MBFI’s grants on education prioritizes the provision of physical access to students and teachers, equipping of classrooms, and capacity building for teachers. The Foundation also recognizes the importance of assisting vulnerabel sectors, particularly persons with disabilities and indigenous peoples, in their schooling. GT Foundation also supports educations programs, especially in the area of technical-vocational education.
Livelihood
The Metrobank Foundation positions itself as a development organization contributing to address the many faces of poverty plaguing our country. Its thrust to provide livelihood opportunities to people is aligned with the attainment of SDG 1”End poverty in all forms everywhere” and SDG 2 “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.”
Livelihood programs supported are those that allow underprivileged families to help themselves. Thus, the Foundation channels its interventions to its social development partners which aim to uplift the underprivileged and implement sustainable programs that address their needs. As a long term approach, the idea is to help them rise from their circumstances until such a time that they are able to break away from the cycle of dependence and poverty.
Health
True to its healthcare thrusts while aligning its interventions in the attainment of SDG 6 “Ensure sustainability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”, the Foundation’s grant-making activities support construction of WASH (Water Sanitation and Hygiene) facilities in public schools and the conduct of lectures and seminars on health maintenance and proper hygiene.
Provision of basic healthcare services is also being supported through the implementation of medical and surgical mission in selected areas around the country.
Disaster Response
The Foundation remains responsive to aid survivors of natural calamities in the Philippines and in Asia through relief and rehabilitation efforts.
