Security Bankers Pack and Distribute School Bags for Valenzuela City Public School Students
Security Bankers can be counted on to share their time and energy for a worthy cause. So when Security Bank Foundation called for volunteers on May 26, 2016 to help pack school supplies in brand new school bags, over one hundred employees trooped to the head office cafeteria to lend a hand.
The spirit of ‘bayanihan’ or team work was very much alive during the packing activity with the participation of Security Bank employees from the Makati Head Office and its subsidiaries. Bank employees assembled and packed each school bag containing notebooks, pad paper, pencils, sharpener, eraser, glue, scissors, ruler, water color and a box of crayons.
Seventeen Security Bankers from Region 1 KAMANAVA and Manila areas helped distribute the school bags with school supplies to 3,500 public school student beneficiaries of Dona Ata Elementary School, Pinalagad Elementary School and Marulas Central School in Valenzuela City last June 6 and June 13, 2016.
Since 2012, the Foundation’s “Resource Mobilization Campaign” has distributed 13,300 school bags with school supplies to students in sixteen (16) public schools in Calauan, Laguna; San Mateo, Rizal; San Juan City; Kalookan City; Tacloban City; Manila City; Malabon City; Navotas City; and Valenzuela City.
Security Bank Foundation Donates Second Ambulance to Philippine Red Cross
Security Bank Foundation Chairman Rafael F. Simpao, Jr. formally turned over a check donation to Philippine Red Cross Chairman Richard Gordon for the purchase of an ambulance unit in a simple turnover activity held at the Security Bank Center in Ayala Avenue, Makati City on August 3, 2016.
Also present during the donation turnover was Philippine Red Cross Secretary General Atty. Oscar Palabyab and Fund Generation Director Esmeralda Villanueva.
The purchase of a second ambulance through the donation of the Foundation will help provide additional emergency and medical support during disasters and calamities in different communities in Metro Manila.
The first ambulance donation of SBFI, which was formally turned over to Philippine Red Cross in February 2016, was given a call sign of “Medic 12” and is currently employed in the NCR Area of Responsibility of the Philippine Red Cross. To date, “Medic 12” has already been used in several emergency transports, conductions and ambulance services totalling to 11 ambulance runs since its formal turnover. Kept in full functioning order 24/7 and manned by the finest crew available, this ambulance unit serves its purpose of catering to patients in all levels of society with a track record of zero lives lost.
