Corporate Social Responsibility
The Story of our Heart
We have the power to move hearts and minds
Forge solid partnerships
Build a sustainable, climate change-resilient nation
One community at a time
Since our establishment in 2006, HARI Foundation, Inc. (HFI), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), has driven the advancement of the Filipino through various philanthropic endeavors across the country in the areas of education, environment, health care, social entrepreneurship, heritage and culture, youth development through sports, the protection of women’s and children’s rights, and road safety.
Fully aware that poverty is more than just the lack of resources, but of options to pursue a better life, we have streamlined our CSR vision to a more focused, long-term, multi-disciplinary, and multi-stakeholder solution.
Education with focus on environmental stewardship for a greener Philippines is the core of our contribution to the Philippine agenda for sustainability.
Gawad Kalinga, Haribon Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, St. Scholastica’s Priory, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), National Museum, The Mind Museum, Synergeia Foundation, and the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) count among our partners in nation-building.
Together, we step up our efforts to make our shared dream of inclusive sustainability for every Filipino a reality.
Hyundai Philippines leads education reform in Mindanao
HARI Foundation, Inc. (HFI), the corporate social responsibility arm of Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), proudly formalized its funding support for Synergeia Foundation, one of the country’s innovative crusaders for quality education for children through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing last November 17, 2012 in Cagayan de Oro to underwrite its commitment to improving the access to and quality of basic education in Mindanao through its new 'Hyundai Embraces Lanao’s Partnership' or 'HELP' for Education Program.
The Hyundai HELP Program aims to engage the academe and local government to improve the quality of the system of basic education in the Lanao del Sur municipalities of Balindong, Calanogas, Ganassi, Kapatagan, Mulondo, Saguiaran, Taraka, Tamparan, and Marawi City.
The program envisions making quality education accessible to all and empowering stakeholders to create safe and sustainable learning communities through training and capacity-building. Program activities include the organization and/or reinvention of local school boards; provision of learning material and facilities to enhance the learning experience of Lanao del Sur students; and training teachers, parents, school boards, and local government units in management, mentoring, and developing effective instructional material for school children.
“We have always looked upon education as a key driver in the growth, development, and stability of our nation,” said Ms. Agudo. “Through this new opportunity to revive the spirit of unity and synergy with our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters dedicated to education excellence, HFI will continue to aim for higher standards of corporate social responsibility by helping in the development of conducive learning grounds for our future leaders.”
Hyundai PH advocates preservation of Philippine’s rich natural history
As a major donor of this important heritage project, Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm, HARI Foundation, Inc. (HFI) reaffirmed its advocacy for education in Philippine biodiversity conservation.
Last September 30, the Hyundai Philippines Entrance Hall welcomed VIP guests, donors, and stakeholders to the inauguration of the newly renovated National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), the proud repository of the country’s rich scientific and cultural past.
Echoing the inspired statements of Education Secretary Dr. Leonor Briones on the NMNH as a premier learning venue for 27-M students across the country, and of National Museum Chair Ramon del Rosario Jr., who lauded the strong public-private collaboration behind this endeavor, HFI President Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo noted that Hyundai’s permanent presence in the NMNH signifies the leading auto brand’s one-ness with the national and global agenda for sustainability. “With a new home that promises better access to research and collections that bespeak new thinking in the sciences through the centuries, the NMNH inspires national pride and the desire to learn and discover new ways of addressing biodiversity loss and climate change woes. For it is with a deep understanding of our past that we can effectively address present and future challenges.”
