FOTON PH SUPPORTS CHILDREN SUFFERING FROM CANCER
United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), the official distributor of FOTON vehicles in the Philippines, supported the Center for Health Improvement and Life Development (also known as Child Haus) – an institution that serves as a temporary shelter for indigent children suffering from cancer, last April 30, 2016.
In collaboration with the FOTON Tornadoes, the professional volleyball team managed by the company, the event was organized as part of the FOTON’s Employee Relations (ER) development with regards to fulfilling its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
FOTON Philippines’ first outreach program this year was filled with activities for the children’s amusement. Together with their guardians, the children warmly welcomed the UAAGI executives and the FOTON Tornadoes volleyball team with genuine smiles and laughter despite the serious battle they are experiencing.
Aside from granting the children’s wishes that were as simple as clothing and food, FOTON Philippines also donated financial support for the patients’ laboratory expenses. As a way of showing their appreciation, the kids happily performed a song number which truly inspired all event participants.
FOTON continues to support various charity programs which primarily aim to show how they value the improvement not just of the businesses but also of the personal lives and welfare of every needing Filipino.
FOTON PH SUPPORTS PLDT-SMART FOUNDATION’S GABAY GURO ADVOCACY
From automotive innovations, dealership expansions, to extracurricular inclinations such as participating in international volleyball leagues, and collaborating with numerous Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arms, FOTON Philippines has been taking part of the lead in these diversified horizons.
One of the many initiatives of United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), the official distributor of FOTON vehicles in the Philippines, is its major support to the PLDT-Smart Foundation.
Every year, PLDT-Smart Foundation holds the Gabay Guro Teacher Fest – the most-awaited tribute attended by more than a hundred thousand teachers coming from various regions across the country. This gathering serves a “sit-back-and-relax” day for the modern-day heroes as they enjoy overflowing treats while watching live performances of popular personalities in the entertainment industry. Prizes were also given away via raffle draw.
Since 2015, FOTON Philippines has been donating one of their sought-after vehicles, the Gratour MiniVan, for the Gabay Guro Teacher Fest’s raffle draw.
UAAGI and FOTON Philippines President Rommel Sytin shared, “We salute the teachers’ courage and perseverance, and we’d like to help them overcome mobility challenges with vehicles that could improve the quality of their lives. In this aspect, the Gratour MiniVan will be an efficient contributor.
The Gratour MiniVan is one of the car and truck brand’s best-selling vehicle due to its built functionality. It is usually used for transport, carpool services and even deliveries of goods. It’s also a perfect family van as it can comfortably sit up to 7 passengers.
In terms of convenience, the 7-seater Gratour boasts of its 5 doors, 2 of them are side sliding, which enable passengers to load without difficulty. Its third row seats are foldable which gives more space for the passengers’ baggage.
Apart from its wide interiors, also highlighting the minivan are safety and security features such as 3-point seatbelts, driver’s seatbelt reminder, rear hopper windows, common and central locks plus a remote control key.
FOTON Philippines first gave a brand new FOTON Gratour MiniVan as a raffle prize for Gabay Guro’s Teacher Fest 2015. The raffle draw winner, Mr. Paciano Salting, is a public school teacher from Nueva Ecija.
Since Salting resides in the rural area, it was difficult for his family to travel and go out of their town. But now, with the FOTON Gratour MiniVan, they have already been visiting various places including Metro Manila as it is suitable even for hundred-kilometer drives.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami sa pagkakataong binigay ng FOTON upang magkaroon kami ng sasakyan. Napakalaking tulong po ng Gratour sa pamumuhay ng aming pamilya.” said Salting. “Bukod sa nakakapunta kami sa mga lugar na ‘di pa namin nararating, nagagamit rin naming ang Gratour bilang sasakyang pangkabuhayan.”
The following year, once again, FOTON donated a unit of the Gratour MiniVan to the Gabay Guro’s Teacher Fest. The 2016 raffle draw winner was Ms. Angelica Zamora, a public school teacher from Atimonan, Quezon province.
Since she received the Gratour, her family’s lifestyle has become much easier and convenient.
“Gabay Guro’s advocacy of supporting teachers as a way of giving back for all their hard work in mentoring today’s youth aligns with our company’s beliefs. In FOTON, we’re continuously coming out with new products and services in order to enhance our support for Gabay Guro and other partners.” noted FOTON Philippines Executive Vice President Anna Maria Parado.
“Our team is very thankful because thru this project, we’re able to touch their lives. These heroic educators are powerful inspirations for Filipinos of all ages.” FOTON Philippines President Rommel Sytin closed.
Aiming to be a catalyst to improve the Filipino families and businesses, FOTON Philippines commits to continue extending their company’s helping hands for the development of the Filipino community through its wide array of vehicles.
Foton Philippines Continues CSR with Donation to Alagang Kapatid Foundation
United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), the official distributor of Foton vehicles in the Philippines, continued its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by donating a customized responder truck last July to Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (AKFI), the social development of TV5.
Affiliated to one of the country’s leading commercial media networks headed by Manny V. Pangilinan, AKFI’s mission is to provide responsible, people-oriented, and environment-friendly response to indigent and disaster-affected communities. AKFI needed a vehicle that could assist their team during their charity works in various locations in the country.
This is when UAAGI provided AFKI a customized Foton Tornado C 3.5 Truck which can be used in the foundation’s disaster response, rehabilitation, and recovery programs.
First, this Foton Tornado C 3.5 has been converted into a mobile airconditioned clinic with a clinic bed, spine board, oxygen tank, and first-aid kit. At the same time, it can also serve as a mobile kitchen since the truck is also equipped with kitchen tools and accessories, aluminum counter tops with cabinets, double burner stove, sink, LPG tanks, and water tanks. Finally, it’s also an emergency response vehicle that can accommodate emergency survival supplies and safety gear.
Foton Philippines Executive Vice President Anna Maria Parado exclaimed: “We would like to thank TV5 and Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. for allowing us to help them innovate their mobility and eventually, achieve their purpose for our community development. We are hoping that they continue to bring assistance and hope to our fellow Filipinos in need.”
“This vehicle will definitely go a long way in making it more possible for AKFI to bring immediate help to more beneficiaries not only within Metro Manila but also in far flung areas, mostly unreachable by other organizations.” said Silvestre. “Because of the FOTON Alagang Kapatid truck, our team is now more inspired to touch more lives,” she concluded.
